Privacy Policy for UnScriptly™
Last Updated: June 2026
UnScriptly™ was built around a simple principle: productivity software should help you own your workflow, not surrender your proprietary data.
Our mission is to return digital sovereignty to creators, operators, teams, and organizations by providing lightweight, open-source Google Workspace tools that run inside the user’s own Google environment. Unlike traditional SaaS products, UnScriptly tools are not hosted on our private servers and are not designed to collect, monitor, or transmit your business data back to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit the UnScriptly website, submit a form, download or copy an UnScriptly tool, request support, or interact with our community channels.
By using the UnScriptly website or voluntarily submitting information through our forms, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. The Short Version
UnScriptly is designed to collect as little information as possible.
Your tool data belongs to you.
When you copy and use an UnScriptly tool, the tool runs inside your own Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Apps Script environment. We do not have access to the spreadsheets, records, client information, metrics, projects, prompts, automations, or operational data you create or manage inside your copied tools.
We only collect information you choose to provide.
The primary information we collect is your email address if you voluntarily submit it through an embedded form, such as a Deftforms lead capture form, download form, support form, bug report form, or feature request form.
We use your email for product communication.
We may use your email to send important bug fixes, security updates, new version releases, platform updates, and occasional educational content related to UnScriptly and open-source Google Workspace development.
We do not sell your information.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your email address with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
We do not build hidden analytics into copied tools.
UnScriptly tools are distributed through Google Drive /copy links. Once copied, the tools operate in your Google Workspace environment. We do not intentionally include “phone home” analytics, hidden tracking, remote monitoring, or backend access mechanisms in the copied tool files.
2. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through:
The UnScriptly website;
Embedded forms on the UnScriptly website;
Deftforms forms used for downloads, support, bug reports, feature requests, or contact submissions;
Email communications from UnScriptly;
Community or support interactions you initiate with UnScriptly; and
Any public-facing UnScriptly pages that link to this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not govern the data you create, store, process, or manage inside your own copied UnScriptly tools after they have been added to your Google Drive or Google Workspace account.
Once you copy an UnScriptly tool into your own Google environment, your use of that tool is governed by:
Your Google account settings;
Your organization’s Google Workspace policies;
Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies;
Any permissions you personally approve when authorizing Apps Script access; and
Your own internal data governance, compliance, and security practices.
3. Information We Collect
UnScriptly follows a data-minimization approach. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to operate the website, distribute tools, provide support, and communicate important product updates.
A. Information You Voluntarily Provide
We may collect information you voluntarily submit, including:
Email Address
When you request access to a tool, download a resource, or access a Google Drive /copy URL, we may ask for your email address through an embedded Deftforms form.
We use this email address to:
Send the requested resource or tool access link;
Notify you about critical bug fixes;
Notify you about security patches;
Announce new versions of tools you may have downloaded;
Share updates about the UnScriptly platform or tool library; and
Send occasional educational or product-related communications.
Support, Bug Report, and Feature Request Information
If you submit a support request, bug report, product idea, or feature request, we may collect the information you choose to provide, such as:
Your name;
Your email address;
Your organization name;
The tool you are using;
A description of the bug, issue, or request;
Screenshots or links you voluntarily submit;
Technical context you choose to include; and
Any other information you provide in the form submission.
You should avoid submitting sensitive, confidential, regulated, or proprietary business information unless it is necessary for us to understand your request.
Community Communications
If you contact UnScriptly through public or private community channels, such as X/Twitter, Reddit, email, or other community platforms, we may receive the information you choose to share through those channels. Those platforms are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
B. Automatically Collected Information
When you visit the UnScriptly website, certain limited technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting provider or related services.
Because the website is hosted using Google Sites and related Google Workspace services, Google may process basic technical and usage information such as:
Browser type;
Device type;
Referring pages;
Pages visited;
Approximate timestamp information;
General interaction data;
IP address or approximate location data, depending on Google’s systems and your settings; and
Other standard website hosting and security logs.
UnScriptly may use aggregated or anonymized website traffic information to understand how visitors interact with the website, improve page structure, evaluate tool interest, and maintain website performance.
We do not use this information to personally profile individual visitors.
4. The
/copy
Distribution Model and Data Sovereignty
UnScriptly tools are distributed differently from traditional SaaS products.
When you request an UnScriptly tool, you may receive a Google Drive or Google Apps Script /copy link. When you open that link, you are prompted to create your own copy of the tool inside your personal or organizational Google Workspace environment.
This model is central to UnScriptly’s privacy architecture.
A. Your Copy Belongs to You
After you copy an UnScriptly tool:
The copied files are stored in your Google Drive;
The Apps Script code runs under your Google account or your organization’s Google Workspace account;
The connected Google Sheets, documents, or files live in your Google environment;
Your data remains subject to your Google Workspace permissions and policies; and
You control who can access, edit, share, or delete the copied files.
UnScriptly does not become an administrator, owner, editor, viewer, or backend operator of your copied files.
B. No Backend Access
UnScriptly does not have backend access to the data you enter into copied tools.
This means we cannot view, edit, export, delete, restore, monitor, or audit the data you store in your copied UnScriptly tools unless you separately and voluntarily share that information with us for support purposes.
C. No Built-In “Phone Home” Analytics
UnScriptly does not intentionally include hidden analytics, remote tracking, or automatic “phone home” mechanisms in copied tool code.
Our tools are designed to operate within your Google Workspace environment rather than continuously communicating with an UnScriptly-controlled server.
D. You Are Responsible for Your Own Google Permissions
Some UnScriptly tools may require Apps Script permissions to operate properly. These permissions may allow your copied tool to interact with Google services such as Google Sheets, Google Drive, Gmail, Google Calendar, or other Workspace services, depending on the tool’s function.
When granting permissions, you should carefully review the Google authorization screen. Permissions are granted by you to your copied version of the tool so that it can perform its intended functions within your Google account or Workspace environment.
UnScriptly does not control Google’s permission screens, OAuth consent flows, or Workspace security settings.
5. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for legitimate business, operational, support, and communication purposes.
These purposes may include:
Providing access to requested tools, templates, or resources;
Sending Google Drive /copy links or download instructions;
Sending important security notices;
Sending bug fix notices;
Notifying users of major version updates;
Announcing new tools in the UnScriptly library;
Responding to support requests;
Reviewing bug reports and feature requests;
Improving the website and product documentation;
Understanding demand for specific tools or use cases;
Maintaining the safety and reliability of the website;
Preventing abuse, spam, or misuse of forms;
Managing community communications; and
Sending occasional newsletters or educational content related to UnScriptly, Apps Script, Google Workspace automation, and open-source productivity tools.
Because UnScriptly tools are disconnected from our servers after being copied, we cannot automatically update your copied files. Email communication is therefore an important way for us to notify users about critical improvements, known issues, and new versions.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Depending on where you are located, certain privacy laws may require us to explain the legal basis for processing your information.
Where applicable, we process your information based on one or more of the following grounds:
Consent: You voluntarily submit your email address or other information through a form.
Contractual necessity: We use your information to provide the tool, resource, support, or communication you requested.
Legitimate interests: We use limited information to operate the website, improve our tools, communicate updates, prevent abuse, and maintain the UnScriptly community.
Legal obligations: We may process information if necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
UnScriptly uses a minimal set of third-party service providers to operate the website, distribute tools, process forms, and communicate with users.
These providers may process information only as necessary to perform their services.
Google Sites and Google Workspace
We use Google Sites and related Google Workspace services to host the UnScriptly website, manage certain documents or repositories, and distribute Google Drive /copy links.
Google may process technical, usage, and account-related information in accordance with Google’s own terms and privacy policies.
Deftforms
We use Deftforms as a form-processing and lead-capture service. Deftforms may collect and store information you submit through embedded forms, such as your email address, support request, feedback, or feature request.
Email and Communication Tools
We may use email or newsletter tools to send product updates, bug notices, release announcements, or educational content. If such tools are used, they will process your email address only for communication purposes related to UnScriptly.
No Ad Networks or Data Brokers
UnScriptly does not sell your data to advertisers. We do not partner with data brokers. We do not use your email address to build advertising profiles.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:
With Service Providers
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the website, process forms, send emails, provide support, or maintain the UnScriptly platform.
With Your Consent
We may share information if you explicitly ask us to do so or give us permission.
For Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena, court order, or governmental request.
To Protect Rights and Safety
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, security, or integrity of UnScriptly, our users, our community, or others.
In a Business Transfer
If UnScriptly is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, limited user contact information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate privacy protections.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
For example:
Email addresses may be retained while you remain subscribed to UnScriptly communications;
Support requests may be retained as long as needed to resolve issues, improve documentation, or maintain product history;
Bug reports and feature requests may be retained to improve current or future tools; and
Certain records may be retained if required for legal, security, operational, or compliance purposes.
You may request deletion of your email address or support records as described in the “Your Rights and Choices” section below.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over the information you choose to share with UnScriptly.
A. Email Opt-Out
You may unsubscribe from UnScriptly email communications at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link included in our emails, where available.
After unsubscribing, you may no longer receive tool update notices, bug fix announcements, security patch alerts, or new version release notifications.
We may still send limited administrative or transactional messages if necessary, such as responding to a support request you initiated.
B. Access, Correction, or Deletion
You may request that we:
Confirm whether we have your contact information;
Correct inaccurate contact information;
Delete your email address from our records;
Delete support or feedback records associated with your email address; or
Stop sending you non-essential communications.
To make a request, contact us using the methods listed in the “Contact Us” section.
C. Form Submission Choices
You are not required to submit forms to browse the UnScriptly website. However, access to certain tools, downloads, resources, or support channels may require a form submission.
D. Google Workspace Controls
For copied UnScriptly tools, you control access through your own Google account or Google Workspace settings.
You may:
Delete your copied tool files;
Revoke Apps Script permissions;
Change sharing settings;
Limit access to team members;
Review Apps Script code;
Modify the copied tool;
Export or delete your data; and
Apply your organization’s internal security policies.
11. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we collect.
However, no website, form provider, email system, or internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
UnScriptly’s strongest privacy protection is architectural: copied tools operate inside your own Google Workspace environment rather than on UnScriptly-controlled servers.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own Google account, Workspace permissions, copied files, Apps Script projects, and user access settings.
We recommend that you:
Use strong account passwords;
Enable two-factor authentication;
Review Google Apps Script permissions before authorization;
Limit tool access to appropriate users;
Avoid placing highly sensitive information in tools unless appropriate safeguards are in place;
Regularly review sharing permissions; and
Follow your organization’s data protection policies.
12. Sensitive Information
UnScriptly does not intentionally request sensitive personal information through its website forms.
Please do not submit sensitive information unless it is necessary for a support request and you are comfortable sharing it with us.
Sensitive information may include, but is not limited to:
Government identification numbers;
Financial account numbers;
Payment card information;
Protected health information;
Confidential client records;
Trade secrets;
Passwords or API keys;
Private authentication tokens;
Highly confidential business metrics; or
Regulated personal data.
If you need support with an issue involving sensitive data, please redact or anonymize the information before submitting it.
13. Children’s Privacy
UnScriptly is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information to UnScriptly, please contact us so we can delete the information.
14. International Users
UnScriptly is operated from the United States.
If you access the UnScriptly website from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate.
By using the website or submitting information, you consent to the processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
15. Open-Source Code and User Responsibility
UnScriptly tools may be provided as open-source or source-available Apps Script projects.
Because users receive their own copy of the code, users may inspect, modify, extend, or adapt the tools for their own workflows, subject to any applicable license terms.
Once you copy, modify, deploy, or share an UnScriptly tool, you are responsible for:
Reviewing the code before use;
Determining whether the tool is appropriate for your environment;
Managing user permissions;
Securing your Google Workspace account;
Complying with applicable laws and internal policies;
Maintaining your own backups;
Applying future updates manually if needed; and
Ensuring your modified version continues to meet your privacy and security requirements.
UnScriptly is not responsible for privacy or security issues caused by user modifications, third-party modifications, misconfigured Google Workspace permissions, unauthorized account access, or misuse of copied tools.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the UnScriptly library grows, our website changes, or our operational practices evolve.
When we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
Material changes may also be communicated by email or through a notice on the UnScriptly website.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how UnScriptly handles information.
17. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, requests, or technical inquiries regarding this Privacy Policy or UnScriptly’s zero-data-access architecture, you may contact us through the official UnScriptly website.
You may reach us by:
Using the “Contact” form on the UnScriptly website;
Using the “Submit an Idea” form on the UnScriptly website;
Submitting a bug report or feature request through an official UnScriptly form; or
Contacting the UnScriptly team through official community channels listed on the website.
Please include enough information for us to understand and respond to your request. Do not include passwords, authentication tokens, private API keys, or sensitive client data in your message.
18. Final Statement
UnScriptly is intentionally designed around user ownership, local control, and minimal data collection.
Our website may collect limited contact information when you voluntarily submit a form. Our copied tools, however, are designed to run inside your own Google Workspace environment, where your data remains under your control.
That architectural boundary is not an accident. It is the foundation of UnScriptly.
VoteTXK.org respects your privacy. We collect limited information to operate the site, send civic updates, improve community engagement, and protect the platform. We do not sell personal information. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
